and for this amazing filmed Szukalski sculptures.
Lots of anecdotal stories, like the one about Hitler’s sculpture project as a ballerina
In the background, history, emigration, nationalism …
A brilliant movie about genius.

Apparently, this is the figure of Stanisław Szukalski was an inspiration for a young actor, preparing himself for the role of a cartoonist, Jacek Dawson, in the Titanic super production.
One of the subsequent stays of the artist in Poland would almost end with his death, when in September 1939 a German bomb hit his Warsaw studio, destroying the artistic output accumulated there. Shortly thereafter, the sculptor went permanently to the USA. He made friends there with the cartoonist George DiCaprio, the father of the now-known actor Leonardo DiCaprio.
However, this is not the only relationship Stacha from Warta with the Hollywood cinema. His original works were interesting for filmmakers who inspired them by designing sets and costumes for science fiction movies.
Szukalski died on May 19, 1987. Until the end of his life, he felt Polish, a warrior. In his correspondence with the local social activist, Dr. Eugenia Kaleniewicz, he often mentioned the family town 7, in which today, in the Museum of the City and the Warta River, an exhibition dedicated to his person and an urn on his ashes can be seen (the ashes of the artist and his wife were scattered on Easter Island in the Pacific).
The artist’s works can be seen in just a few museums in Poland – the National Museum in Warsaw and the Upper Silesian Museum in Bytom. However, it is in the collection of Krzysztof Musiał that the work of his youthful years – the image of a young sculptor from the time when his talent developed, when his artistic personality was shaped, when his creativity, yet thoroughly modern, did not take on the final, mature shape.
