At least 2,500 fans are needed for this set to happen.
Funimation is celebrating Dragon Ball Z’s 30th Anniversary with a Collector’s Edition that will need at least 2,500 fans to purchase to make it happen.
Announced by Funimation, this Collector’s Edition will include the complete Dragon Ball Z series on Blu-Ray with new bonus content, North America’s first full-sized hardback artbook that is only available in this edition, an exclusive figure, and much more.
Funimation is holding this reservation campaign because, “due to the high costs associated with the set, we need to guarantee a minimum to print.” It claims that is the minimum build order needed from its printers to make this a reality, and if they don’t reach the 2,500 goal, the Collector’s Edition will not be made.
On Twitter, Funimation shared the information with some potential hints as to what to expect from the set.
The first image shows the #4 and #3 Dragon Balls, leading some to believe that this edition will allow Dragon Ball Z fans to view the series in its original 4:3 aspect ratio, as opposed to widescreen which loses some of the full picture.
In addition, a silhouette of Goku was also shown, hinting that he may, unsurprisingly, be the exclusive statue that will be available in this set.
Fans can sign up now to learn more, and Funimation promised to reveal more and open the reservation period soon to hopefully turn this dream into a reality.
2019 is very much looking like a great year for Dragon Ball Z fans, as the Dragon Ball Game – Project Z Action RPG is set to release this year and Dragon Ball FighterZ is getting a second FighterZ Pass.
